It’s time to take a bit of a break from hotel lists and talk more about the girls in Thailand. What I want to talk about here is thai dating, specifically a review on dating sites. Here, we will compare and review the two biggest sites – Thai Friendly vs Thai Cupid.
I have used both Thai dating sites while scouting for girls in Thailand and there are some differences which we will discuss.
Amount of Girls on the Dating Sites
There is a clear difference in the amount of girls when comparing the two. Thai Cupid simply has more. To give you an example I was on yesterday in the afternoon and Thai Friendly had about 500 girls online (live) while Thai Cupid had just over 2000 online. Of course the girl doesn’t have to be online to message her but these are just live numbers but gives you an idea which site has more.
Qualities - Attractiveness, Intelligence, etc.
Both sites have similar girls of attractiveness, Intelligence, slutiness, etc. I would also imagine that a lot of these girls are on both sites and just switch up the photos.
If you want to see what a girl looks like on Thai Friendly, you’ll have to click on the thumbnail as it is rather small. On Thai Cupid they are a pretty good size so you get a general idea right away if you are interested in her or not. This of course makes it much easier and can save you some time.
Search Filters on the Sites
Thai Cupid does have a lot more criteria for filters. You can search for age, astrological sign, BMI, height, chinese sign and measurements – yes! There’s also a lot more filters to choose from if you really want to narrow it down.
I doubt people will ever drill down searches that much because they could be missing out on some spectacular women if scrutinized so much. However, I do like that measurments option! Search for breast size? Wow!
Thai Friendly’s search is decent just not as robust as Thai Cupid. So, Cupid wins here.
Site Design & User Interactivity
For site design, I think it comes down to the individual. Both look ok to me and personally I don’t care what the site looks like but what the girl does. If i had to choose, i’d maybe say that Thai Friendly looks cooler. That’s just my opinion and I don’t think this aspect should be part of the decision process between the two, but i’m including it anyway.
As for functionality, Thai Cupid is the winner here because Thai Friendly can be buggy at times. There have been some occurrences where the chat freezes at times and occasionally there is some missing text. This is very infrequent though but it has happened.
I’ve never experienced any errors with Thai Cupid so I would imagine it is coded better. Again – who really cares as it’s about the girls, right?
Phone Apps
Only Thai Friendly has a dating app which can be used for either iPhone or Android. Thai Cupid does not have a phone app because their site is mobile friendly so the mobile version is automatically set when bringing up the site in mobile. Apps are cool to use on your phone, but not necessary if it’s build well for mobile.
Pricing for Thai Friendly
Thai Friendly is priced at $24.95 per month or $99.95 per year – USD. (other payment options available)
Pricing for Thai Cupid
Thai Cupid is $31 USD per month or $120 for the year for the Gold Package (other payment options available)
The platinum package for Thai Cupid is $39 USD a month. This gives you more search functions and some perks over the gold package but I advise against it. Gold is good enough.
So, price-wise, Thai Friendly is the cheaper option. This is partly due to the fact they don’t have as many members. Let’s hope the price doesn’t change. You can lock in for a year in case it does.
Thai Friendly Has a Lot of Freelancers
One thing I can tell you based on my experience in using Thai Friendly is that if you search in major tourist areas like Bangkok or Pattaya, you are going to find a lot of the girls are freelancers. Unlike Thai Cupid, you won't find many on that site in these same areas.
So be aware of that. If you're in Pattaya especially, almost all the girls on Thai Friendly are freelancers. If that's your thing, then you'll definitely find what you are looking for.
Final Thoughts
In deciding which one is for you, it comes down to these two criteria. Price and location of girls. Since Thai Cupid has more members, you’ll find more girls in the more remote places of Thailand. So in this case Thai Cupid is the better choice.
If you’re mostly in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, etc., then Thai Friendly will be just fine. Since Thai Friendly is cheaper, it’s the better option for you here.
So my verdict is – you guessed it. Whichever one based on the above is best for you and I think you have figured it out already.
Bottom line is you can’t lose with either – but at least now you know which one will be the better choice for you.
